Here is a copy of a letter which I am sending to Kroger. It is self explanatory.
David Dillon, CEO Kroger
Dear Mr. Dillon:
My wife and I have been customers of the Kroger grocery store in our area for years. The store has a wide variety of products, good produce, and several specific brand products that are not available at the several grocery stores closer to our home. In general, our opinion of your store has always been very favorable.
For this reason I was a good bit disturbed to hear Kroger advertising on a Clear Channel Communications radio station. These are the radio stations that carry Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Shaun Hannity, Michael Savage, Mark Levin, and others of their ilk.
I have many good friends, as well as close family members, who are Republicans. While my wife and I consider ourselves to be Democrats, we realize that there is room for thoughtful debate on all of the important issues that face our country today. However, the talk show hosts on Clear Channel make their living calling Democrats “cowards”, “communists”, “socialists”, and “traitors”. They routinely and constantly accuse Democratic voters of being fools, of wanting to destroy America, of wanting our soldiers to be killed by terrorists, of wanting to destroy capitalism, of wanting the economy to crash, along with many other ridiculous crimes, too numerous to list here.
I am writing this letter to ask you to personally review the decision to advertise with Clear Channel Communications. Surely whoever made the decision to do so was simply not aware that talk show hosts on Clear Channel radio stations spend most of their day insulting and alienating people like ourselves, who must constitute a large portion of your customer base.
The thought of money which we have spent in your store going-- through your advertising expenditures-- to pay the salaries of people who, on a daily, routine basis, levy such charges against us is actually stomach turning. I hope that you will remove Clear Channel from you list of advertising venues, so that my wife and I, as well as the many others like us, can once again feel comfortable about shopping in your store.
Sincerely,
Eugene L. Hayman, Jr.

Senator John Cornyn
517 Hart Building
Washington, DC 20510-43303
Dear Senator Cornyn:
I read in Sundays Houston Chronicle that you voted against the pay as you go budget rule. Help me understand your vote.
In 1990 the Democrats and George H.W. Bush worked together to pass a pay as you go budget rule. That rule is thought by many to be responsible for the surplus government revenue occurring when George W. Bush took office in 2000. At that time there was no talk of our Social Security benefits being in danger.
However in 2002 you and your fellow congressmen let the pay as you go rule lapse and the flood gates of deficit spending began.
Now in 2010 you are criticizing the deficit spending and for some idiotic reason are calling for tax cuts that make no sense. At the same time you have not identified specific areas that spending should be cut to cover the lost revenue.
It is apparent that the so called George W. Bush tax cuts did not generate enough revenue to cover the government spending you and your fellow legislators passed from 2002 to the present date.
I am really interested in receiving your reply.
Sincerely
Kenneth Dietrich SOHK
